Visit of evaluators from UNESCO
August 10, 2018 1:32 pmOn July 16-20, an evaluation mission related to applying to the UNESCO Global Geopark Network took place in our Geopark.. We hosted two evaluators: Mr. Mahito Watanabe from Japan and Mr. Chris Woodley-Stewart from England. The goal of the mission was to verify the current operations and development prospects of the Geopark, in the context of the chance to obtain the prestigious certificate of the UNESCO Global Geopark. The evaluators visited the five municipalities included in the Geoland of the Holy Cross Mts Geopark: Kielce, Chęciny, Morawica, Sitkówka-Nowiny and Piekoszów. The result of the evaluation will have to wait until April next year.
